Volunteers are needed to man the phones for the Super Sunday phone-a-thon on Jan. 27.
Super Sunday is rapidly approaching. Not Super Bowl Sunday, but the Sunday before. It’s a tradition at the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey that benefits tens of thousands of individuals in South Jersey, in Israel, and in 90 other countries across the globe.
This year’s annual Super Sunday phone-a-thon will take place on Sunday, Jan. 27 with two shifts: 9:15 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. The phones will be ringing off the hook that day as hundreds of passionate volunteers reach out to donors in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester Counties to raise funds for the Jewish Federation’s JFund campaign. Super Sunday is then followed by Super Week, which runs through Jan. 31. Last year, more than 300 volunteers helped to raise over $1 million in just one week.
“The dollars raised during Super Sunday/Week make a real impact on our South Jersey community, and in Jewish communities all around the world. Ninety cents on every dollar donated to JFund goes directly to programs and services, ensuring a Jewish future and caring for all those in need,” said Jennifer Dubrow Weiss, CEO of Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey.
In addition to the more than 300 volunteers who come out for Super Sunday, local dignitaries also show their support with their attendance. Volunteers are needed on Super Sunday during both shifts to make calls and do clerical work. Phone and clerical volunteers are also needed during Super Week, Monday through Thursday, Jan. 28 through Jan. 31, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Training is provided on-site. On-site parking is available. Those unable to volunteer are asked to donate when called. For more information, visit jewishsouthjersey.org/supersunday, email [email protected] or call (856) 751–9500 ext. 1117. It’s never too late to volunteer, walk-ins are also welcome.
