The warning will be in effect through 7 p.m. Monday afternoon.
High winds are expected in Cherry Hill and the surrounding region this afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Cherry Hill and most of Southern New Jersey through 7p.m. Monday evening. The warning was issued with weather forecasters predicting 25 to 35 mph sustained wings. Wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph through mid-afternoon.
In an advisory, the NWS said wind gusts in the warning area have reaches as high as 50 mph in mid-morning and are expected to increase. Residents are asked to be aware of fallen trees and limbs as well as power lines.
Isolated to scattered power outages are expected this afternoon. Residents can report outages to PSE&G by calling (1–800) 436–7734 or texting “OUT” to 47734.
At 3 p.m., PSE&G’s power outage map showed about 7,600 customers in New Jersey without power. Cherry Hill has not had any widespread outages, but downed wires along Route 70 between Springdale and Old Orchard roads caused the highway to be shut down in both directions around 2 p.m. on Monday.
