The Flash Flood Watch will be in effect through midnight as heavy rain is expected to hit the region.
The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has issued a flash flood watch for Cherry Hill and much of the surrounding region for the remainder of Friday. The watch will be in effect until midnight on Saturday with heavy rain expected to continue as the day progresses.
Showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon may contain torrential downpours, according to the National Weather. There could be multiple rounds of storms through this evening, with some locations receiving two to four inches of rain in a short period of time. This could produce flash flooding.
Flash flooding of creeks, streams and roadways will be possible, especially in urban and poor drainage areas. Additionally, areas that received heavy rainfall since yesterday afternoon will be susceptible to flash flooding.
