Information on the program is being provided at an information session on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The session will take place at the Cherry Hill campus of Camden County College, located at 1889 Route 70 East in Cherry Hill.

“I encourage anyone interested in working in an in-demand and skilled career to attend one of the information sessions being held throughout the county,” said Camden County Freeholder Jonathan Young. “This could be the start of a new and rewarding career in the utility industry.”

The program’s goal is to facilitate high-skill and high-wage employment through a series of workforce development and industry preparatory information sessions, academic refresh seminars and workforce preparation. At the end of the program, successful participants may have the opportunity to complete the pre-employment process, including an interview with Atlantic City Electric or another industry leading company.

The training will take place at Camden County College and will focus on essential math and mechanical skills, overhead and underground line work, and electrical theory. All participants must be 18 years of age and older, reside in New Jersey and have a valid driver’s license. Participants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and will be assessed to determine if their current math and reading levels meet the class requirement.

For more information, or to apply, contact the Camden County Workforce Development Board at (856) 751–1500.
