Town council adopted an ordinance establishing a redevelopment plan

A redevelopment plan for Cherry Hill Township’s Hampton Road redevelopment area was finally given the green light last Monday. Council passed an amended redevelopment plan for the area after the original plan was first tabled in July. Some of the changes in the new plan include the preservation of approximately 2.8 acres of open space, the reduction of 48 units, lowering the total height of the buildings and shifting the internal access roadway away from the Still Park neighborhood.

Cherry Hill Superintendent earns recognition from national education publication

Cherry Hill Public Schools Superintendent Joe Meloche has made communicating with students a top priority since becoming the school district’s superintendent in August of 2015. Meloche’s efforts were recently recognized by a national education publication. Education Week is honoring Meloche as one of its 2018 “Leaders to Learn From.” Meloche will be featured with other top administrators from across the country in Education Week during February.

Long-time athletic trainer John Laird looks back at nearly 30 years at Cherry Hill West

Athletic trainer John Laird has been huge part of the Cherry Hill High School West community for nearly 30 years. Since 1988, Laird has been a fixture on the Cherry Hill West sidelines, caring for hundreds of student-athletes who have competed for the Lions in a variety of sports. Laird’s tenure as athletic trainer is coming to a close as he prepares to retire at the end of December.

Cherry Hill dancers talk about their upcoming performance

Three Cherry Hill dancers were featured in the South Jersey Ballet Theatre’s 26th anniversary production of “The Nutcracker” at the Voorhees Middle School Theater. Cherry Hill residents Brie Leftwich, Brynn Fletcher and Joyce Wu were all performers in this year’s show. The three talked about rehearsals, their characters and how they expected the audience to react to this year’s show.

Cherry Hill Police searching for three assault suspects

Cherry Hill Police released a surveillance photo of three men who are wanted in an ongoing assault investigation. Police say the three suspects, all male, may be connected an assault that occurred at the Cherry Hill Mall. Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact Det.
