The entire community is invited to participate in the Mall Walk benefiting the Cherry Hill Food Pantry on March 11 at 1:30 p.m.
On Sunday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m., hundreds of individual and team participants will be checking in and registering for a mall walk sponsored by the Cherry Hill Food Pantry. There will be a large gathering of families, friends and neighbors participating in the walk. People of all ages will be at the mall from babies in strollers to great grandparents.
All proceeds will go toward funding the Cherry Hill Food Pantry. The pantry distributed 430,000 pounds of food last year and needs the community’s help to continue its mission to fight hunger especially in light of expected government cutbacks. The food pantry’s clients include single parent families, elderly citizens and disabled members of our community. The pantry is accepting new clients from Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Mt. Laurel and Marlton. There are also legacy clients from many other towns in Camden and Burlington Counties. Clients are able to visit once a month and leave with a shopping cart overflowing with not only non perishables, but milk, eggs, cheese, meat ,bread, fresh fruits and vegetables and even desserts.
Participants can register for the walk online as an individual, a team member or a sponsor at www.cherryhillfoodpantry.com . Registration is also available the day of the event. Each participant or team member is asked to get as many sponsors as possible. Sponsors can go online and contribute or give a donation to their participant.
The walk will include a comedian, musical entertainment, face painting, balloon animals and more. The entire community is invited to participate.
