Mullica Hill Police participating in U Text U Drive U Pay campaign

The Harrison Township Police Department will be participating in the “U Text U Drive U Pay” campaign throughout the month of April. Officers will be assigned on a daily basis to enforce applicable distracted driving statutes.

From 2012 to 2016, nearly 800,000 crashes in New Jersey involved a distracted driver. Cell phones are one of many distractions both inside and outside the vehicle which can cause crashes. New Jersey law bans the use of a handheld cellular phone while driving. Drivers who talk or text on a handheld cell phone while driving face a fine. Driving requires your full attention.
