Morgan Miller helps upgrade library at assisted living center
Juliette Girl Scout Morgan Miller wanted to help out seniors in the Cherry Hill community for her Silver Award project. Last Monday, she showed off her work as she unveiled a newly upgraded library at Brookdale Marlton Crossing, an assisted living center in Cherry Hill. The completion of the project put Morgan one step closer to achieving her Silver Award.
Cherry Hill West Theater faces biggest challenge yet with ‘The Phantom of the Opera’
There hasn’t been a musical at Cherry Hill High School West quite like the one the theater department is putting on this year. Cherry Hill West is performing the longest running Broadway musical of all-time, “The Phantom of the Opera,” this March. The show has been more challenging than any other in past thanks to its wide-ranging vocals and intense storyline.
February Athlete of the Month: East pole vaulter leaps into Meet of Champions
Alana Cohen has transformed from a pole vault beginner in ninth grade into one of the best in South Jersey in her senior year. Cohen was selected as The Sun’s February Athlete of the Month after she qualified for the 2018 NJSIAA Indoor Meet of Champions. Cohen qualified after finishing in sixth place in the Group IV state championship meet.
Cherry Hill native making history at local school
A Cherry Hill native is enriching the lives of many in the Haddonfield Memorial High School community. Margaret Gammie first fell in love with education as a student in Cherry Hill Public Schools. Now, as a social studies teacher in Haddonfield, Gammie is hoping to add something special to the lives of the many students she teaches.
Cherry Hill resident takes the trip of a lifetime
Gerry Nanos lent a helping hand to those in need overseas earlier in February. Nanos journeyed to Haiti, where he volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, a national faith-based organization that prepares food packages for children in impoverished countries. Nanos joined the organization three years ago to learn more about the harsh conditions children were living in and work to fix it.
