County reports 564 new COVID cases this week

COVID cases continue to decrease.

The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 470 new positive cases of COVID-19 and one new COVID-related death which occurred Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 17. Additionally, there were 94 cases detected through antigen testing, bringing the total number of cases 564. The aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 127,562 and 1,712 total fatalities.

The outcomes from these antigen tests, unlike the results from the polymerase chain reaction, (PCR) are probable positive cases. These daily numbers are added into our aggregated lab tested PCR metrics.

Of the 470 cases, 37 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 48 years old.

The daily case average is 78, a decrease from last week’s average of 86.

The Health Hub is now from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can make an appointment at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.

To date, 423,441 Camden County residents have received at least one of the COVID-19 vaccine, 378,360 have received two doses and 251,069 have received a third dose. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Omicron variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
