On Wednesday Sept. 14, the South Jersey Now–Alice Paul Chapter will have its virtual monthly meeting.
Join SJ Now–Alice Paul Chapter on Sept. 14 to learn more about the bold and brave work of the Jane collective and how modern-day abortion activists are fighting back against antiabortion extremism to help their communities take control of their bodies and their futures. Attendees will leave this program with increased awareness of the current abortion landscape and tools to plug into the present-day networks fighting against all odds to ensure equitable access to abortion care for all.
From 7 to 7:30 p.m., there will be a social time to chat with South Jersey NOW members. From 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., The Janes: Lessons from a pre-Roe abortion collective for a post-Roe reality will be presented by Roxanne Sutocky.
8:30 to 9 p.m.: Program Evaluation and more Social Time
Sutocky serves as Director of Community Engagement for The Women’s Centers, a group of independent abortion providers located in CT, GA, PA, and here in New Jersey at the Cherry Hill Women’s Center. For the last decade, Sutocky has supported people seeking abortions and facilitated educational, political, and volunteer opportunities for community members. In her role with The Women’s Centers, Sutocky seeks to break down misinformation and stigma surrounding abortion care and envisions a future where everyone can get reproductive health care when we need it, laws support each of us, and all pregnancy decisions are met with love and support.
