Haddonfield Cello Society to perform Jan. 25

The Haddonfield Cello Society, a local six-person group composed of four cellos, piano and violin, and will be performing light classics, popular tunes such as Ruby Tuesday and California Girls, plus show tunes including Shall We Dance at the William G. Rohrer Memorial Library on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

The performance is free and open to the public.

The Haddonfield Cello Society has been performing together for more than a decade. The group’s repertoire includes classical works, show tunes and popular songs. The unique vocal quality of the cello has resulted in a large body of music written or arranged for cello ensemble. The members are all local musicians and teachers, and have performed throughout the south Jersey area.

The six-person group is composed of four cellos, piano and violin, and will be performing light classic such as Mozart’s A Little Night Music and popular tunes including The Rolling Stones’ Ruby Tuesday, the Beatles’ Norwegian Wood and Beach Boys’ California Girls.

The Haddon Township Branch of the Camden County Library is located at 15 MacArthur Boulevard in Westmont 854–2752.
