Come out to Baker Lanes on Saturday, March 26 and throw a few bowling balls down the old bowling lane for a good cause. The Remington and Vernick Engineers are again hosting their 17th annual charity bowling tournament to benefit five local charities.
Baker Lanes is located on 761 Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill.
Starting at 9 a.m. and running until 11 p.m., the event is always popular and always crowded. Last year 1,600 bowlers of all ages showed up to participate. Through sponsorships and donations, the event raised over $62,000 for local charities.
This year’s proceeds will go to benefit The Mary Anne Mazanec Ovarian Cancer Foundation, Ellie Koerner Leukemia Fund, the Canuso Foundation, Alicia Rose “Victorious” Foundation, and the Little Rock Foundation.
“We are thrilled to once again help the communities we represent,” said Edward Vernick, president of Remington and Vernick Engineers. “The event held at Baker Lanes has grown over the past 17 years. The employees of Remington and Vernick recognize the responsibilities we have go beyond engineering, surveying, and planning services we provide as professionals. They go to the heart of the communities we represent. We will strive to continue our help for those in their time of need.”
The employee charity committee at the engineering firm was established in 1990 by volunteer employees. The committee has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities since its creation.
