The Harrison Township Committee met on Dec. 6 to adopt an ordinance that establishes a joint municipal court with Mantua Township.
Mantua approved an addendum to the shared-services agreement that will allow participating municipalities to add Harrison to the court. The measure will be discussed at a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 20. Harrison’s committee approved the joint court resolution later in the December session.
Other resolutions approved included appointing Michael J. Riley as Harrison’s certified recycling coordinator, and a shared-services agreement with Logan Township for the provision of municipal trash and recyclable collection.
More partnerships with other townships were also approved, namely the execution of a sanitary wastewater memorandum of understanding with Woolwich Township.
The Harrison committee also established premium payments to essential township employees using funds received under the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, also known as the COVID stimulus package.
The execution of a contract for the 2022 retrospective program with the municipal joint insurance fund was resolved as well. It authorizes a reduction of a building permit fee for the Friends School Corporation for work to be performed at 15 High Street.
The next Harrison Township Committee meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, in the municipal building. This session will be the last in 2021.
