On Saturday Dec. 11, the Berlin Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will be hosting its 5th annual Holiday Stroll. Where in the past there have been house tours of the historic homes, this year’s tour looked a little different.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the community is invited to take a stroll down Washington Avenue where seven historic homes will be decorated. Unlike in past years, these houses will not be available for touring as a precaution for COVID.
Festivities include photos with Santa, cookies and cocoa, holiday lights, a pop up market with arts and craft vendors at the Long-a-Coming Train Station, house tours of the historic James T. Dill House (whose renovations were completed earlier this year) and songs and stories by the Libby Prison Minstrels–a group that performs civil war-era songs dressed in authentic civil-war attire.
Along Washington Avenue, there will also be carriage rides by the 76 Philly Carriages company.
For parking, the bus will be at the Borough Hall so people can park there and the bus will bring them the three blocks to Washington Avenue.
