The Haddonfield Cello Society is a group of local musicians who have been playing together for about 15 years. The cellists meet once a month to celebrate the glorious sound of the cello. Their repertoire includes classical works, show tunes, and popular songs.
The unique vocal quality of the cello has resulted in a large body of music written or arranged for cello ensemble.
Piano and violin are also included in the ensemble.
The group will be performing their annual concert at the William G. Rohrer Memorial Library of Haddon Township on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7:30Â p.m.
The program of Summer Classics is free and sponsored by the library.
Selections include California Girl, In the Good Old Summer Time, and some Beatles tunes.
