New Jersey American Water will replace over two miles of aging water main in Camden County starting next week. The project also includes replacing six fire hydrants and 158 utility-owned service lines along the pipeline route. The company will upgrade the aging 6-inch cast iron water lines that were installed as far back as the 1800’s with new 6- and 8-inch ductile iron main along the following streets:
- Lynnwood Lane, Gloucester Township from Sherbrook Road to Hollyoke Road
- Upland Way, Haddonfield from Washington Avenue to Warwick Road
- Washington Avenue, Haddonfield from Lane of Acres Road to Upland Way
- Lane of Acres, Haddonfield entire length
- White Horse Pike, Oaklyn from Nicholson Road to Lakeview Avenue
This $2.22 million investment will continue to advance water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that has reached the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
New Jersey American Water’s local, qualified contractor, Pioneer Pipe Contractors, Inc. will begin work the week of June 30 in Gloucester Township and the following week in Haddonfield and Oaklyn and expects to be completed in all towns by the end of November, weather permitting.
