The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 24 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 48,561 in Camden County today and 1,187 total fatalities.
“We have not seen a daily case total this low since Oct. 20, 2020, a true testament to the power of these vaccines and our residents’ continued commitment to taking this virus seriously,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “If you have not yet gotten your vaccination, now is the time to do so to ensure that you can enjoy the summer safely when more restrictions are lifted. With the news that the Pfizer vaccine can now be administered to individuals 12 to 15 years old as well, we are well on way to reaching herd immunity, but we need everyone to continue getting vaccinated as soon as possible.”

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,353 confirmed resident cases and 1,378 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 48,561 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 461 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,187 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
