CamCo logs 212 new cases

Confirmed positive cases tops 45,000 since start of pandemic.

The Camden County Department of Health announced on Wednesday 212 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 45,474 in Camden County today and 1,144 total fatalities.

“As evidenced by the more than 200 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Camden County today, this virus remains extremely active in our community,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“With warmer weather and vaccinations increasing we should see a return to lessened restrictions in the coming months, but we must take every precaution in the meantime to protect those around us. Even if you have been vaccinated, please continue to wear a mask, social distance, and limit your gatherings to protect those who are still awaiting their shot.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

To date, 333,355 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 206,372 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 142,928 people who are fully vaccinated.

 the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,370 confirmed resident cases and 1,370 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 45,474 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 466 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,144 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.

Residents should also download the COVID Alert NJ mobile application on their Apple or Android device where they can view the latest information regarding COVID-19 in the state and be notified of potential exposures to the virus.
