Downtown Haddonfield will put a new spin on an old favorite by introducing ‘First Thursdays’ starting Thursday, June 5 from 5–8 p.m. First Thursdays, taking place on four select Thursdays during the summer, will feature an exceptional mix of music, on-street artists, extraordinary dining and themed displays in many of Haddonfield’s unique, independently owned shops and boutiques.
First Thursdays replaces First Fridays and each will present its own unique theme. The June 5 First Thursday theme will be ‘One Stop Wedding Shop.’ Wedding-related retailers, bakeries, flower shops and many other unique vendors will display their wedding wares in front of their stores.
Additional First Thursdays are scheduled to take place on July 3 (‘Everything Red, White and Blue’), August 7 (‘Sidewalk Sale’) and September 4 (‘Back to School’).
“There is a growing trend toward families and couples looking to get the weekend started a little early and get out on Thursday evenings,” noted Remi Fortunato, Haddonfield’s retail recruiter. “So we’ve changed our First Fridays to First Thursdays to cater to this trend and hopefully entice more folks to experience our wonderful downtown.”
Off-Kings Highway stores will be invited to set up tables on Kings Highway at a designated location. Country Way Bridal, Jay West Bridal and Angel Bridal will offer sample dress sales. Clothing stores will be displaying apparel for wedding-related events.
Something totally new for First Thursdays and the Downtown will be customer appreciation rewards. This promotion allows all receipts for purchases made between 5 and 8 p.m. on First Thursdays to receive a 10% rebate on the total amount of money spent. The rebate is to be given in the form of a Haddonfield Gift Certificate and all receipts must be redeemed within one week of the event (by June 12 for June First Thursday). The rebate is not to exceed $50 per person.
On June 5, live entertainment will be featured with a Jazz band playing on Tanner Street, bands at The Shops at 116 Kings and at Haddonfield’s ‘Haddy’ statue along with a live DJ spinning tunes at the Kings Court.
