The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday 22 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 351 additional cases of the disease confirmed between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 37,369 in Camden County and 983 total fatalities.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of 22 additional victims to this terrible disease,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“With Super Bowl weekend behind us, it will take a few weeks to know whether any spike results from parties and celebrations, but I am confident that Camden County residents largely heeded the call of officials to limit gatherings this year. We are in the final stretch of this pandemic, but that doesn’t mean that the threat we face has been diminished yet. Keep wearing a mask, social distancing, and working with contact tracers, and we will get through this.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,271 confirmed resident cases and 1,286 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 37,369 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 445 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 983 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
