The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 524 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, Nov. 7, and Monday, Nov. 9. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 14,002 in Camden County today and 581 total fatalities.
“Today, Governor Murphy announced new restrictions on our state’s economy for the first time since the shutdown was incrementally lifted in the early months of summer. If there was still any doubt that we are headed in the wrong direction with regards to this pandemic, today should have made it very clear,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“We are fighting this virus every day, but we are continuing to see a massive spike in positive cases. We need to embark on another concerted effort to flatten the curve before it is too late. Please stay home as much as possible, wear a mask, and avoid indoor gatherings until we have this surge under control.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,578 confirmed resident cases and 680 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 14,002 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 344 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 581 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
