The Black Horse Pike Regional School District announced today that Timber Creek Regional High School will reopen tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 9 after closing for one day due to COVID-19 concerns.
The district had announced Wednesday night that the school would be closed Thursday due to multiple positive tests within the building.
“Timber Creek High School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 8, out of an abundance of caution due to four positive COVID cases in the past seven days, two of which may be related between staff members,” the district said in a statement Wednesday night. “The Camden County Department of Health is waiting to complete its investigation and is waiting for a determination by the State Epidemiologist. Since we do not have the Department of Health’s determination, we believe we have no choice but to close for tomorrow.
The district also said contract tracing was currently underway for individuals that may have come in contact with those that were currently positive.
After working with the county Department of Health and state Epidemiologist, the district has since announced that Timber Creek will be able to reopen tomorrow to go back to its previous school schedule.
“Timber Creek High School will resume in person classes tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 9. Yellow cohort students should report as usual. All extra-curricular activities, including athletics and contests, may resume without restriction as well,” said the district in a statement.
