The Haddon Fortnightly presents “Maisie Brews a Business” at meeting Sept. 25

The Haddon Fortnightly Women’s Club will present “Maisie Brews a Business” by Maureen O’Connor Leach on Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. during The Haddon Fortnightly opening business meeting in the clubhouse located at 301 Kings Highway East in Haddonfield. This program is free and open to the public and is being funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The program will be a dramatic presentation by a 1925 matron who is planning to open a Tea Room. Maisie Stanton will explain how her husband reacted to her announcement and what she is doing to prepare for the undertaking. Our presenter Maureen O’Connor Leach has been an historic interpreter for more than 25 years.

Please join us for our opening meeting at 1 p.m. and this entertaining presentation at 2 p.m. For more information about this event, contact Judy at (856) 428–5283. For more information about the Horizons Speakers Bureau visit http://njch.org/programs/hsb/.
