Haddon Fortnightly meeting hosts food editor Maureen Fitzgerald Jan. 22

This month’s meeting of the Haddon Fortnightly General Club will be held on Friday, Jan. 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Haddon Fortnightly Clubhouse, located on the corner of Kings Highway and Grove Street. After the business meeting, Maureen Fitzgerald, the food editor from the Philadelphia Inquirer, will be discussing “My Daughter’s Kitchen,” a cooking program for schools that she founded. Fitzgerald’s mission in starting this volunteer program was to teach school children in Camden and Philadelphia to cook healthy, easy meals on a budget. Join us to learn more about how the program has progressed, what schools have benefited from the classes and perhaps learn if you would like become a volunteer. The public is welcome to attend this free discussion, so please join in. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting. Any questions, please contact Mary at (856) 770–4550.
