Murphy to serve on board for SJ Chamber of Commerce

Hyland Levin Shapiro LLP is pleased to announce that partner and Cherry Hill resident Julie M. Murphy, was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey. The Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey is a member driven organization focused on building partnerships between business and community leaders in the region to foster economic prosperity and strategically influence public policy impacting its members.

Murphyy’s practice revolves around representing her clients in financial transactions, including loan documentation and negotiation, troubled debt restructuring, loan workout, bankruptcy and financial litigation. Regularly advising financial institutions and other creditors in workouts, reorganizations and restructuring of defaulted credit facilities, Murphy represents a variety of creditors in all types of commercial bankruptcy, insolvency, collection and foreclosure proceedings. As an adjunct to the firm’s real estate practice, Murphy advocates for landlords pursuing recovery in bankruptcy proceedings, including in large, retail cases. She provides a full range of legal advice and services relating to financial transactions and tailors her advice to align with clients’ needs, goals and concerns.

Murphy is admitted to practice in state, federal and bankruptcy courts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. She is a member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Turnaround Management Association and is on the board of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the International Women’s Insolvency Committee. Additionally, Murphy serves on the Board of Directors for the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project, a non-profit organization in Philadelphia that pairs attorneys with individuals in need of a fresh start through the bankruptcy process.
