The renowned Howard Gospel Choir of Howard University will be in concert at First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m.
Howard Gospel Choir is the first collegiate choir of its kind in the world and has pioneered an international legacy in the gospel music ministry. It has a roster of 70-plus students and alumni of Howard and the surrounding community who embrace contemporary and traditional gospel, church hymns, Negro spirituals and classically arranged anthems.
As international cultural ambassadors, the choir has shared the stage with musical luminaries like Barry Manilow and Stevie Wonder and has performed at functions featuring the likes of former President Barack Obama and the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The choir is under the musical direction of Howard grad Reginald Golden.
Tickets are not required at the church concert, but a free offering will be taken and there will be a food collection.
