Autumn in Moorestown returns to Main Street

Festival will be held rain or shine

The Moorestown Business Association (MBA) will host Autumn in Moorestown on Main Street on Saturday, Oct. 5, rain or shine.

The festival will begin at 9 a.m. and feature crafts, artisan foods, live music and family activities.

“One of the main features of Autumn in Moorestown and even Daffodil Day in the spring is to bring the art community together,” said MBA president Craig Dennin. “Autumn in Moorestown is really supposed to be more of an art-oriented festival.”

Applications for vendors are now open. Artisan vendors who have created their own special items – including paintings, wall art, jewelry, ceramics, accessories, photography, artful gadgets and an array of unique decorative pieces – are welcome to join the show.

A $25 late fee will be added to all for-profit registrations; they close at the end of the day on Friday. Applications are online at www.moorestownbusiness.com/events/.

There will not be a classic car show this year, but the festival will include wine and a wide variety of craft beers, features added in 2018.

“The thing that makes me feel the best is when I see a young couple – mom and dad, dad might have a glass of beer, mom might have a glass of beer or a glass of wine, a kid in a stroller and then maybe one kid walking alongside them – just casually walking, talking and having good times, stopping, talking to friends and neighbors,” Dennin noted.

“I feel so community-oriented at that moment,’ he added. “It’s really something. That was the goal.”

The MBA was founded in 1974 by local business owners who wanted to improve the township’s retail climate. Through the years, it has created and managed numerous town-wide events to benefit both businesses and residents, as well as opportunities and initiatives to promote and grow commerce in the township. Aside from Autumn in Moorestown and Daffodil Day, they include Moorestown Day and the Main Street candlelight stroll.

Visit the MBA’s website for more information on any of these events.

“We’re all praying for a really clear, sunny day,” Dennin said of Autumn in Moorestown. “It’ll be a good day for mom, dad and the kids, as far as what they’ll get to see and things they can participate in.”
