New York’s Radio City Music Hall is one of the highlights of trips planned by the Harrison Township Recreation Commission.

The Harrison Township Recreation Commission is offering residents a series of bus trips this fall that will include shows.

One is a visit to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, for a performance of “Daniel,” a play based on the Bible character of the same name. A bus will leave the parking lot of Ella Harrison Park at 8 a.m. and return to Mullica Hil at 7 p.m. The show begins at 11 a.m.

“After the show, we will head over to Kitchen Kettle Village for a buffet lunch at the Klinghouse Restaurant,” said Recreation Coordinator Sharon Chew. “There will be plenty of time for shopping.”

Also available is an optional local bites voucher that will let travelers sample products throughout the shopping center. The bus will depart the village at 5 p.m. to return home.

A trip to New York City is scheduled for Thursday Dec. 12. A bus will leave the parking lot of Ella Harris Park at 9 a.m., and will offer either the “Rockettes Christmas Spectacular” at 5 p.m., or shopping in iconic locales such as Times Square that will be decorated for the Christmas holidays.

“There’s nothing better than New York at Christmas,” said Chew.

This trip will include optional backstage tour tickets with the Rockettes. Expected return time is 9 p.m.

There is also a trip scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, 2025, also to the Sight and Sound Theater for a 30th-anniversary performance of “Noah,” based on the story of Noah’s Ark.

Tickets for each of the bus trips can be found on the recreation commission’s page on eventbrite.com. They are open to children and adults alike, as well as people both in and out of Mullica Hill.

“Everyone (eagerly) waits for the trips,” said Chew. “People like having a guided program to work around. They like having a bus, so they don’t have to drive themselves and have to worry about parking.”
