The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating a crash involving state police that killed a motorcyclist on the afternoon of April 9 in Southampton Township.
The identity of the male victim has yet to be released, according to the attorney general. The crash happened when the trooper’s vehicle collided with the motorcycle on Route 70, near Burrs Mill Road in the township, while on routine patrol duty, according to a preliminary investigation.
The motorcyclist was transported to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at about 12:45 p.m. The trooper sustained only mild injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
