The Mullica Hill Business Association will once again host its chocolate walk along Main Street on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The event will include merchants who want to make themselves known in the community and for residents to support small businesses. Since Valentine’s Day is just a few days later, the walk will also be a night for adults.
“It’s designed as a couple’s night, where people can experience all the shops on Main Street,” said the association’s President George Murphy. “Each shop will have a type of dessert or something that makes you think of Valentine’s Day.
“It serves as a meet and greet for businesses, where the owners can interact with customers and guests from out of town,” he added. “They’re offering different types of free treats and drinks that are chocolate oriented.”
Participants can choose one of three times to attend, 4, 5 and 6 p.m., a schedule that makes the event manageable for guests and shop owners, according to a Facebook post. Guests can also participate in a scavenger hunt of participating shops, where owners of each business sign participants’ tickets. With the last signature, the ticket holder is entered into a raffle.
“Turn in your ticket for a chocolate walk passport identifying the treat stops,” says the Facebook post’s events listing. “Fill out the back of your ticket with your name, address and phone number or email and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the Mullica Hill Business Association gift basket.”
A total of 125 tickets are available for purchase online at Ticket Leap, where prices can be viewed. Tickets will be reserved, but will cost more to purchase on the day of the walk. Children can participate, though not all shops support strollers.
“It’s a super fun event and we’re excited to have it,” Murphy said.
