Centennial Avenue Bridge closed for repairs

The Centennial Avenue Bridge will be closed for about six weeks while Burlington County replaces the wood deck of the nearly 80-year-old span.

Work on the timber bridge across the Thannel Run is expected to begin on Monday, Sept. 11, and will require the road to closed to all traffic between Hopewell and Pine roads. Traffic will be detoured using Hopewell, Breakneck and Hinchman roads.

Work will be done by the county Department of Public Works, Division of Roads and Bridges. The entire deck on the 12-foot-long bridge will be replaced and the bridge rail will be updated.
