Moorestown Theater Company presents area premiere of “Mean Girls JR.”

MTC will perform this musical at the national Jr. Theater Festival (JTF) in Atlanta in January 2024

Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) will present the South Jersey premiere of “Mean Girls JR.” at the First United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall (FUMC) on these dates and times:

  • Wednesday, May 17, at 6 p.m. (‘Black’ Cast)
  • Thursday, May 18, at 6 p.m. (‘Gold’ Cast)
  • Friday, May 19, at 7 p.m. (‘Black’ Cast)
  • Saturday, May 20, at 2 p.m. (‘Black’ Cast)
  • Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. (‘Gold’ Cast)
  • Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. (‘Gold’ Cast)

MTC’s 52-member student cast will bring to life the musical version of the classic movie by Upper Darby, PA’s Tina Fey, which shows how new girl Cady Heron stands up to Regina George and the rest of the Plastics at North Shore High School.

The original Broadway production of this musical opened on April 8, 2018, and ran for 804 performances, before closing as COVID hit on March 11, 2020, and was nominated for 12 Tony Awards. This musical, which features such great songs as “Apex Predator”; “Revenge Party”; “Fearless”; and “I See Stars” is appropriate for audience members of all ages. “Mean Girls JR.” is also the musical that MTC will be bringing to the national Jr. Theater Festival (JTF) in Atlanta in January 2024.

Leading the directing teams for both the NJ and GA productions are MTC Founding Producing Artistic Director Mark Morgan (Director); MTC Founding Managing Director Carol Ann Murray (Vocal Director); and MTC Veteran and former Eagles Cheerleader Julia McDonald (Choreographer).
