County logs 897 new cases in past week

This week's daily case-average is 100, a decrease from last week's spike of 126.

 The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 698 new positive cases of COVID-19 and three new COVID-related deaths which occurred between Tuesday, Sept. 27 and Monday, Oct. 3. Additionally, there were 199 cases detected through antigen testing, bringing the total number of cases 897. The aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 126,404 and 1,708 total fatalities.

The outcomes from these antigen tests, unlike the results from the polymerase chain reaction, (PCR) are probable positive cases. These daily numbers are added into our aggregated lab tested PCR metrics.

Of the 698 cases, 121 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 46 years old.

The daily case average is 100 for this week, a decrease from last week’s spike of 126 cases per day.

The Health Hub is now from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can make an appointment at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.

There will also be no testing on site but test kits will be available for residents to pick up and test at their leisure.

To date, 422,719 Camden County residents have received at least one of the COVID-19 vaccine, 377,454 have received two doses and 250,546 have received a third dose. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Omicron variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
