Camden County logs 990 new cases between 2/8 and 2/14

Camden County sees 17 new deaths in the past week.

The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 699 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 17 new COVID-related deaths which occurred between Tuesday, Feb. 8 and Monday, Feb. 14. Additionally, there were 291 cases detected through antigen testing, bringing the total number of cases to 990. The aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 103,122 and 1,571 total fatalities.

The outcomes from these antigen tests, unlike the results from the polymerase chain reaction, (PCR) are probable positive cases. These daily numbers are added into our aggregated lab tested PCR metrics.

Of the 699 cases, 178 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected has ranged from 34 to 42 years old.

“The numbers are continuing to show that we are headed in the right direction here in Camden County,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “However, we do need to improve the number of vaccines and booster shots. The definition of fully vaccinated has changed and you must have that booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated now.

“If you have two doses you need to come back for that booster, it really does make a difference. And for those who are not vaccinated yet, now is the time. These vaccines are safe, effective and readily available. Please, make an appointment for your first or second dose or your booster shot at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.”
