Gloucester Township Police respond to DUI motor vehicle crash into a residence

Incident occurs while police were investigating a motorcycle crash

Release according to the Gloucester Township Police Department.

On September 10, 2021 at approximately 10:45 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the on ramp of Hwy Rt. 42 North and Sicklerville Rd, for a reported motorcycle crash. Upon officers arrival, a motorcycle was observed on the ground and the operator was lying on the roadway. Fire and EMS arrived and began to treat the rider. The motorcycle rider was determined to have a severe head injury and was transported to Cooper Trauma for
treatment. The Gloucester Township Police Department Serious Crash Investigation Team was called in and took over the crash investigation.
While officers were assisting with the crash investigation, a vehicle drove by the scene with a flat front passenger tire. Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle. Before officers could catch up to the vehicle, it rear-ended another car on Sicklerville Rd. then turned onto a side street, striking several parked cars before driving across the front yard and into the front corner of a residence. The operator of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
The motorcycle operator is currently listed in critical but stable condition. The name of the motorcycle driver is being withheld at this time pending further investigation.
