CamCo reports 66 more COVID cases in last three days

Cherry Hill posts 13 new infections; Gloucester Township records 8 new cases.

The Camden County Department of Health on Monday reported 66 new positive cases of COVID-19 which occurred between Saturday, July 24, and Monday, July 26, as well as one new death caused by COVID-19 over that same span, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 50,128 and 1,237 total fatalities.

“Although cases of COVID-19 are trending upwards again in New Jersey, data provided by the state Department of Health during the governor’s press conference today reaffirmed what we already knew – the overwhelming majority of those being infected are unvaccinated,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“These vaccines continue to offer incredible protection from this disease, with less than one percent of New Jersey residents who are fully vaccinated having contracted COVID-19. If you are unvaccinated, get your shot and help put this pandemic behind us.”

To date, 299,096 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 271,912 are fully vaccinated. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
