The Camden County Department of Health is announcing one new death caused by COVID-19, as well as 79 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed between Saturday, May 29, and Tuesday, June 1. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 49,313 in Camden County today and 1,204 total fatalities.

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with everyone who has lost a loved one to this disease. Even with so few new cases, we are reminded how dangerous COVID-19 can still be,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “With just 23 cases on average over the last seven days, we are seeing the number of new cases fall near its lowest point since the pandemic began. We can sustain the drop this time if residents continue to get vaccinated and take this pandemic seriously. We are turning the corner, but we can’t stop until we get there.”
The Department of Health is announcing 79 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
To date, 478,161 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 270,339 people with at least one dose, and 228,015 who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,362 confirmed resident cases and 1,390 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 49,313 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 462 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,204 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
