Louise Marie Houseknecht (nee Henkel) of Moorestown passed away on April 21 at home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 92. Louise was born August 6, 1928 in Brooklawn and was a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1946. After high school, she went to work for Campbell Soup Co., working up to the position of secretary to the president until leaving in 1958 to raise her family.
Louise met Tom, her husband of 66 years, in high school. They were married in 1954 and moved to Moorestown in 1964. Louise loved traveling, listening to opera and attending concerts by the Philadelphia Orchestra. She was especially fond of taking annual trips to Washington D.C. with her grandchildren.
Louise served for many years on the Alter Guild of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Moorestown. She also remained close with her high school classmates, staying active with the Gloucester High School Alumni Association throughout her life.
Louise is survived by her husband Thomas R. Houseknecht, daughter Pam Cannatella, sons Eric Houseknecht and Paul Houseknecht, and daughter Eileen Houseknecht; as well as grandchildren Bianca, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Peter.
Funeral service and interment in Locustwood Memorial Park will be private.
