County logs 475 new cases in three-day stretch

CamCo boasts nearly 140,000 residents as fully vaccinated.

The Camden County Department of Health on Monday revealed 475 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, April 10, and Monday, April 12.

This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 45,129 in Camden County today and 1,135 total fatalities.

“The Camden County Vaccination Center in Blackwood currently has up to 2,000 available appointments throughout this week open for new patients and those with existing appointments,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“These vaccines are our best bet at beating this virus and getting back to normal. If you haven’t made an appointment yet, now is your chance to get protected. If you already have an appointment scheduled at the site, contact our staff or visit your MyCooper account to move your appointment forward. We will not always have an abundance of supply so it is important to take advantage while the opportunity exists.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

To date, 323,235 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 200,269 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 138,167 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,365 confirmed resident cases and 1,367 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 45,129 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 466 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,135 total fatalities countywide.
