Alec Garber, of Berlin Township, will be providing a stem cell donation for a bone marrow transplant recipient through the Gift of Life network. Based on the date of the surgery and the medication needed for the donation, the county has moved up his vaccination date, so this life saving process can continue as scheduled.
“First and foremost, I want to thank Alec for being such a thoughtful and compassionate person for making this life saving donation. That said, by getting Alec his vaccination early we are ostensibly assisting in the saving of two lives,” said County Commissioner Director, Louis Cappelli, Jr. “While we continue to vaccinate as many residents as we possibly can, ensuring we get to herd immunity as quickly as possible, Alec reminds us that there is always more we can do to enhance our neighbors’ lives.”
