After a delay of almost 48 hours, the Camden County Department of Health announced on Friday eight new deaths caused by COVID-19, as well as 404 additional confirmed cases of the disease confirmed between Thursday, Nov. 19, and Friday, Nov. 20. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 16,622 in Camden County today and 596 total fatalities.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Every death caused by this crisis is a tragedy, and we must do everything in our power to prevent any additional loss of life,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“This weekend, please continue to heed the advice of public health experts to keep yourself and others safe. I know that we have all grown tired with the pandemic’s impact on our lives, but with the first vaccines seemingly just months away, we only need to hold on a little longer until greater relief arrives. In the meantime, please continue to social distance, wear a mask, and avoid all indoor gatherings.”
The Department of Health is announcing 404 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,666 confirmed resident cases and 742 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 16,622 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 350 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 596 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
