Election day is quickly approaching and here in New Jersey it will be a little different but the stakes are still the same. As a result, I am writing this to make sure we take the time to think about our local school boards and vote.
I have been a resident of Voorhees for more than 17 years, an active participant in both school districts and an advocate for public education for more than 12 years. I have spent countless hours at board of education meetings, on school committees and an active participant in our children’s education. Because of that, I would like to offer my opinion in the upcoming election for the Voorhees K-8 Board of Education.
When your ballot arrives, please take the time and cast your vote to reelect Bruce Karpf and Richard Nelson to the Voorhees Board of Education. Both of these gentlemen have a true and unwavering commitment to all the children of our township to receive the best education possible. That commitment is not only to the children, it is also to the teachers and staff to ask the tough questions of our administration and provide the tools and support needed to educate our children.
Beyond that, their commitment is to us, the stakeholders, the residents of this town to ask those tough questions, challenge the norm or the way things were done in the past and make prudent decisions for us all. Both gentlemen are conscientious, thoughtful and truly take to heart the matters of the Voorhees school district.
Both Bruce Karpf and Richard Nelson deserve your vote to continue serving our children and their educators all while consciously and consistently questioning, evaluating and moving our district forward in the normal times, the hard days and the new days ahead.
Thank you,
-Jeanine Martin
