The Camden County Department of Health revealed on Friday 44 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 9,334 in Camden County today and 551 total fatalities.
“Of today’s new cases, more than 60 percent are individuals under 30 years old. We need to be clear that young people are not immune to this virus, and they are contracting and carrying COVID-19 in increasing numbers,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“We continue to find that the spread of coronavirus at this time is largely linked to preventable, behavioral choices, such as attending parties or large gatherings, and not wearing a mask or social distancing. We need to take the recommendations of our public health officials seriously if we are going to get through this, especially when the fall reduces our ability to gather outdoors where air flows more easily.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,340 confirmed resident cases and 530 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 9,334 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 311 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 551 total fatalities countywide.
