The Gloucester County Animal Shelter has the perfect addition for your family.
Kitten season is in full swing and the shelter has 20 cats looking for their forever homes. The shelter is also currently home to six dogs and two birds.
Residents interested in adopting an animal from the shelter can fill out an application online at http://www.gloucestercountynj.com/.
The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while adoption hours are by appointment only Tuesday through Saturday noon to 4 p.m.
“Our animals are ready to find their forever home,” said Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger. “The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped operations over at the shelter, and residents are encouraged to adopt the furry friends we have staying with us.”
Animals are still adoptable at a discounted price. Animals six years old and younger will have their adoption fees reduced to $35. Dogs and cats six years and older will have their adoption fees completely waived. Birds are adoptable with a donation to the shelter.
In addition to adoption services, the shelter is still serving Gloucester County residents through the Pet Food Pantry.
“Any resident in need of pet food can contact the shelter directly to retrieve food and treats for their pet,” said Freeholder Deputy Director Frank J. DiMarco, liaison to the shelter.
