The Haddonfield 65 Club optimistically plans for a trip in July.
After having several trips planned for this year canceled due to the coronavirus situation, the 65 Club is looking forward to a trip and tour to Shofuso, the Japanese House in Fairmount Park in Philly on Wednesday, July 22.
Departing from in front of Haddonfield Memorial High School, at 10:30 a.m., the school bus will get us to Shofuso, which is a replica of a Japanese style home from the 1600s.
The shoeless tour, where socks are required, will be guided through the home where the old-style living quarters will be explained. The tour will also include a class in origami (paper folding).
Following the tour, we will be transported to Sagami Japanese Restaurant, where we will be served a typical family style Japanese meal and return to Haddonfield in mid afternoon.
If interested simply send a check for $35 to the 65 Club at 110 Rhoads Ave. Haddonfield, N.J. 08033.
On the envelope, mark it “Japanese trip,” and on your check please include your phone number.
Previous excursions which had to be canceled, were a trip to Simione Auto Museum, the Barnes Museum, and a tour of the Phillies home field Citizens Bank Park.
Checks received for these events have not be cashed but are being held for the time that we can reschedule.
