Black bear spotted in Monroe Township

The bear was last spotted on the Scotland Run golf course, according to reports.

Gloucester County Animal Control has been notified of a black bear roaming Monroe Twp.

As of Friday morning, the bear was last seen on Scotland Run Golf Course off of Fries Mill Road. At this time, there is no threat to Gloucester County residents.

Residents are encouraged to leave the bear alone. Do not approach or engage.

If there is an emergency situation regarding the bear, please call the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection at (1-877) 927-6337.
