“This pandemic has offered our community little relief in recent weeks, and today we are deeply saddened to announced seven additional deaths caused by COVID-19. With 100 additional cases of the virus confirmed in Camden County, we are wishing all of those infected a fast and full recovery,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“In the past 24 hours, the country has reached a tragic milestone in having lost more than 100,000 Americans to this insidious virus. Today, our thoughts and prayers are not only with those in our community, but with the families and friends of victims across the United States. As a nation, we will get through this crisis, but the families who have experienced a loss due to coronavirus can never be made whole again. It is my sincere hope that we are past the worst of this pandemic, and that another family will not have to face the pain of losing someone they love. As we move forward, please continue to social distance, wear a face cover or mask, and practice good hand hygiene. This is the only way we can save lives and prevent future tragedies.”

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,098 confirmed resident cases and 367 confirmed staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 6,529 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this current time 233 resident deaths and three staff deaths have been reported from these facilities out of our 320 total fatalities countywide.
