After a large spike in cases was reported in Gloucester County on Sunday, county health officials have reported just 17 cases on May 18, the lowest single-day total in the county in more than a month.
Over the weekend, Gloucester County reported 29 new cases on Saturday and its largest number of cases this month on Sunday with 77. The increase was due to a large number of cases in South Harrison Twp. South Harrison accounted for more than half (56 of 106) of the cases confirmed over the weekend. Most of the South Harrison cases involved residents in their 20s and 30s.

Gloucester County also reported the death of three Deptford residents ill with COVID-19. All three residents were female, ages 84, 86 and 105.
