For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Gloucester County reported more than 100 cases of COVID-19 in a single day on April 27.
There are 104 new cases of COVID-19 according to county health officials. Additionally, 47-year-old man and 85-year-old woman have died from the virus, bringing the county’s COVID-19 death toll up to 34.
The big reason for the spike was an extremely large increase in cases in Deptford Township. Sixty-two of the 104 new cases involved Deptford residents with ages ranging from 25 to 93. Out of the 62 Deptford cases, 41 of those cases were residents 65 years or older.

The fourth Gloucester County COVID-19 testing date has been scheduled for Thursday, April 30. Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be pre-screened. Please have insurance information available at that time. Once pre-screened, an appointment time will be scheduled.
