The Camden County Department of Health is announcing six (6) new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 132 additional confirmed cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 1,008 in Camden County today and 29 total fatalities.
The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:
Case 1: Female, 90s, Voorhees Township
Case 2: Male, 80s, Clementon Borough
Case 3: Female, 80s, Cherry Hill Township
Case 4: Male, 90s, Cherry Hill Township
Case 5: Male, 90s, Cherry Hill Township
Case 6: Male, 80s, Gloucester Township
“This is another somber day as our thoughts turn to residents who have lost their battle with COVID-19. We keep our thoughts and prayers with families of the victims who are going through heartbreak and pain over the destruction this virus has caused to our neighbors. This is an especially difficult time to be without family, in the middle of Holy Week, and even worse to lose a member,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“We are again asking residents who are observing faith-based holidays this weekend to reflect privately and celebrate only with those in their home. While this is a difficult change to make, with traditions at this time of the year so treasured for so many, it is necessary in order to ensure that your family will be able to gather together this time next year. If we stay home, we save lives, and we can break the back of this virus once and for all.”
The Department of Health is also announcing 132 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
The following information is currently available regarding new patients. Municipalities with the largest number of new positives:
- 30 in Camden City
- 26 in Cherry Hill
- 17 in Gloucester Township
- 15 in Pennsauken
- 8 in Voorhees
- 7 in Winslow Township
The county Health Department is currently working with the NJDOH to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
